Robert Williamson, LPC
Robert Williamson (he/him) earned a Master's degree in Counseling through the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has been serving the San Antonio community since 2017. His early career consisted mostly of working with folks living with severe mental disorder, such as schizophrenia. Over the course of his LPC training, he also fostered specialties of grief work and emotion regulation. At present, his highest specialization is in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related diagnoses, and he works extensively with exposure and response therapy, a well-researched form of OCD treatment.
As someone who has lived with diagnoses of depression and OCD in the past, he brings a rare understanding and patience to his work. Having gone through counseling that is similar to the treatment he provides, he understands that choosing to engage in counseling takes strength and courage, and that the process is hard work. He brings this level of validation and empathy to temper the challenge of counseling.
In his personal life, Robert enjoys video games, gardening, and spending time with his cats: Mischief, Precious, and Siren.
