Noel Blessing, PHD, LPC
Noel Blessing, she/her, graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2017, earning a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She later pursued a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and discovered a passion for teaching. While her Ph.D. doesn't have a direct application to therapy, it provides her with valuable insights into research methodologies, enriching her practice in treating depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.
Drawing from her own experiences with anxiety and depression, Noel approaches her work with a profound sense of empathy and understanding. She understands firsthand the challenges of seeking therapy and discussing difficult emotions. Her number one priority in therapy is creating a safe and supportive space for her clients to explore their concerns. The second is to provide her clients with tools they can use outside of session. The third is to have some fun on the way.
Noel has experience counseling adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. She adopts an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from various theories and perspectives to create a treatment plan for her clients' healing and growth. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She is currently exploring the use Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Noel enjoys engaging in a variety of creative hobbies such as knitting, painting, and baking. She is also a big fan of anime, manga, and cartoons.
